What Is the Process Like For Custom Pools?

If you’ve ever owned a pool before, you know how much fun it is to have one available whenever you need to cool off in the summer. However, you might not be aware of what it takes to design your own pool from scratch. The process can be a long one, but it’s always worth it in the end when you get the chance to have some fun in the water. Here’s what you can expect when you design your own pool.

Figuring out the size, the shape, and the depth you want your pool to be is the first step to bringing your vision to life when the project is custom pools in Buckhead. The first question is answered for you by the size of your yard, but the second and third questions depend on who’s going to be using the pool and what you’re going to be using it for. For example, if you have a family that includes young children, or if you’re going to use the pool mostly for games, you’ll need to have a large portion of the pool at a fairly low depth so that everyone can use it safely. If you plan on using the pool for diving, water slides, and exercise, then you’ll want to have the pool at six feet deep or more so that you have plenty of water available to allow these activities.

Once that’s done, the next steps include acquiring the permits and conducting the excavation. Before any digging is done, it’s a requirement to be certain that your city will allow you to dig in the area for your future pool. If there’s a cable that needs to be there, you’re going to have to find an alternate site. But if everything works out perfectly, the digging can begin, putting you on the fast track to getting your pool in place.

However, the excavation is only the beginning of the process. From the moment the first shovel goes in the ground,  expect it to take four to six weeks of work to install your pool and open it for your use. That’s because once the land is dug out, it takes time to construct the frame of the pool, line it with tiles, install plumbing and set up electricity to allow the pool to pump correctly. If a single step is skipped, the pool won’t be anywhere near what you envisioned when the design was first conceived.

Waiting for custom pools in Buckhead to be completed is a lengthy procedure, but like most major endeavors, the result is worth it in the end. If you know what you want in your pool and you’re willing to be patient, the final product will become something you and your family will treasure for generations.
